Bloody Mary pasta with Bloody Mary garlic bread

This devilishly delightful dish is a twist on the usual standard tomato pasta, with all the flavours of a Bloody Mary cocktail – including the vodka. Serve with impossibly moreish Welsh rarebit-style Bloody Mary garlic bread for the ultimate cosy night in. The Bloody Mary rarebit also makes a great starter by itself.

For the pasta

M&S Distilled British vodka

For the garlic bread

250 g
M&S British mature cheddar
5 g
English mustard

M&S free-range mixed size egg
yolk only

celery salt

M&S spiced tomato juice
5 mL
M&S Distilled British vodka
35 g

Method

HIDE IMAGES
Step 1
Heat 1tbsp olive oil in a large saucepan and gently cook the M&S celery sticks (2) until softened. This should take around 10 minutes.
Step 2
Add the M&S Distilled British vodka (50 mL) and celery salt (6 g) and cook for 1 minute. Add the M&S classic tomato everything sauce (1 jar) into the pan along with the Worcestershire sauce (5 mL) and Tabasco sauce (3 dashes) . Season well with salt and pepper. Simmer the sauce while you cook your pasta.
Step 3
Bring a large saucepan of salted water to the boil and cook the rigatoni (320 g) according to packet instructions.
Step 4
While the pasta is cooking, time to make your Bloody Mary garlic bread. Heat the grill to medium and lightly toast your Collection crafted sourdough bread (8 slices) on each side.
Step 5
Add your M&S British mature cheddar (250 g) , English mustard (5 g) , M&S free-range mixed size egg (1) , Worcestershire sauce (5 mL) , Tabasco sauce (3 dashes) and celery salt (6 g) to a small food processor and whizz together. As you’re whizzing, add the M&S spiced tomato juice (30 g) and M&S Distilled British vodka (5 mL) to make a paste.
Step 6
Spread 1tsp of M&S Collection garlic and herb butter (35 g) onto each slice, then top with a thick layer of the cheese mix.
Step 7
Grill until golden and bubbling.
Step 8
Serve your pasta garnished with a squeeze of lemon (as needed) , a liberal dusting of parmesan (to taste) and a good amount of freshly cracked black pepper, alongside a slice or two of your Bloody Mary garlic bread.
